A Pandemic Teen….
“I don't think pandemics make us afraid of death, I think they make us afraid of oblivion.”
-John green
As said above, the pandemic has given all of us new perspectives and challenges in life that we never knew we would face.
If two years ago I would have asked any of you the question, would you stay at your house for three months straight without having the luxury to step out whenever you please and to do simple things like eating at a restaurant or as in my case go to school? I am pretty sure most of you would have said no. I remember my reaction when the lockdown was announced last year in march, how scared and confused I felt, just like so many people out there. I remember rushing to the grocery store with my father near me and buying as many things I could get, thinking I may not get them later. Wondering how online school is going to look like and what am I going to do at home for 2 months. But here we are 2 years later living in a reality that is strange yet normal to us. Where hearing millions of people around us are dying seems normal yet affecting so much of us at the same time. Passing school while sitting at home or giving online exams seems normal to us. Where many students like me have forgotten things like going to school and giving exams on paper. Hi everyone, I am Saanvi Awasthi and I am just a 15-year-old who is trying to live life like a normal teenager or trying to understand what’s it like being a normal teenager in today’s strange time where social media plays an important role in everything we do. I have no experience in life and want to be someone in the world someday. This blog is my take on life as a fifteen-year-old who doesn’t know what the future world looks like but is trying to speak about social causes, politics and some typical teen issues . Issues that matter to me as an individual. I am going to give my perspective as a Gen–Z in today's strange world. In conclusion, I want to say is that I am just a teenager with not much experience but am trying my best to understand these complex issues and give you the viewpoint from a 15-year-olds perspective like me in a world where the future is unknown.
